Non-invasive treatments of thyroid nodules using high intensity focused ultrasound or HIFU
HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) is a non-invasive, outpatient (no need for hospital admission) technique used for the non-invasive treatment of benign thyroid nodules using high-intensity ultrasound.

The ultrasounds propagate through the skin focusing on a portion of the target tissue, generating intense heat (85ºC) and causing tissue ablation in the selected focal area. This technique is backed by prestigious scientific publications that show a 50-70% reduction in the thyroid nodule. This is a procedure that can be repeated several times (2-3 sessions) depending on the size of the nodule.
